About us

The Verdugo Hills Christadelphians are members of a worldwide body of Bible Students.

We specifically believe and teach solely what the Bible says as the inspired Word of God. Although we also believe that what the Bible actually says differs from what the majority of the world’s churches teach.

The name “Christadelphian” comes from the Greek words Christos and Adelphoi, meaning “Brothers and Sisters in Christ.” We embrace this identity as a friendly group dedicated to understanding the gospel message delivered by Jesus Christ and his disciples in the First Century. In connection to this we refer to ourselves as an “Eccleisa” which is the Greek word for “meeting” as the importance is on the people rather than the building.

We are a group of Bible Students who meet together weekly to worship our Heavenly Father. We are a “lay community” and the baptized men, called “brothers” are responsible for leading, teaching, and exhorting the entire Ecclesia. There are twelve (12) Christadelphian Ecclesias in Southern California, and several hundred worldwide. Worldwide, there are an estimated 50,000 members.

Reading the Bible regularly is key to discovering this message for yourself, and we’re here to help.

We believe that God has given us all the chance to learn and understand His offer of salvation. It’s a personal responsibility to discover what He requires from us to be part of His incredible future plan for the earth.

The Breaking of Bread

Although our breaking of bread service is only offered to those who have been baptized into our community, we extend a warm invitation for you to join us in our Sunday Morning Gathering. This service is dedicated to reflecting upon the profound significance of the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This gathering includes various elements such as prayer, communal worship through uplifting hymns, scripture reading, a thought-provoking message known as an ‘exhortation,’ and communion—often referred to as the ‘breaking of bread.’ During this portion of the service, baptized members of our community come together to share in the symbolic act of partaking of bread and wine.

Weekly Bible Study

In addition to the Sunday Service, we also hold a weekly Bible Study class that is held in-person and online via Zoom. All are welcome join, if you are interested please reach out for details.
